About me

I am mostly pleasant and optimistic, with a side of snark.  I teach English Language Arts in an impoverished, urban district, primarily to students whose first language isn’t English (aka ESL/ELL/SEI).  I began my career teaching working with socially, emotionally and behaviorally disturbed high school students, before moving into a public vocational school. Slowly but steadily I have been moving toward working with the ESOL population, but have worked in special education, college prep, and taught AP Literature as well.
